So, after our year off, we are now almost
ready for the 8th Liberty Art 2011. We have made some pretty drastic changes including teaming up
with Waynesboro’s Downtown
Organization Of Retailers (D.O.O.R.) to work on a venture that will
draw more patrons and more attention to the 2011 show – a bird dog
sculpture project similar to Aiken’s horse project and Athens’ bulldog
project.
We have ten local and regional artists
who are busy decorating life-size concrete dogs to be displayed in
prominent downtown locations during the weeks leading up to the Show.
Selected artists have been asked to
personalize their dog sculptures to an original theme and give the dog a
name appropriate to that theme.
Any medium is acceptable and we are seeing
everything from natural wood to glass beads , mosaics and paint.
